StoryBodies[0] = "Welcome to OU, freshmen! On August 25th, Student Congress hosted a new member reception in the Cate Main Lounge with over forty freshmen in attendance. Clarke Stroud, Vice President for Student Affairs and Dean of Students, spoke about the rich history of the University of Oklahoma Student Association.\n\nEach of Student Congress’ committee chairs spoke about his committee. Jonathan Vann for Problems and Projects, Forrest Bennett for External Affairs, Anthony Pham for Academic Affairs, Jason Robison for Congressional Administration, Spencer Pittman for Public Relations, and Brett Stidham for Ways and Means.\n\n[photo:Student_Congress_2009_024[1].jpg]\n\nThe Congressional Administration committee brought several dozen Student Congress applications, which were all taken. StoryBodies[2] = "Student Congress will be hosting “Green Night” on Tuesday, September 15th at 7:00pm in Adams 150. \n\nStudent Congress will present a $2,000 check to the OU Physical Plant to purchase more recycling bins; half of these funds were raised during Green Week 2009 from T-Shirt sales and half are from Student Congress. Claire Peterson, Chair of Green Week 2009, will be awarded the prestigious Rod Jahromi award for her dedication to sustainability at OU. All students, faculty, and members of the OU Family are invited to attend.\n\nMembers working on Green Week 2010 will make a short presentation on current plans for the event; Student Congress is still looking for volunteers to both plan and work Green Week 2010. \n\nContact Congress@ou.edu for more information.";

All subsidiary budget applications are due on Thursday, September 24th to uosabudget@ou.edu. All Union Catering Fund applications are due on Friday, September 25th to the same address. \n\nThe subsidiary process is for groups who would like or need more funds for the remainder of the school year. The Union Catering Fund is for groups who are planning events in the Oklahoma Memorial Union; these funds are generously donated by Housing & Food.
